Pinangsia Noodle House

So we've heard, so much fuss about the noodles in Pinang Sia. So much so that when we told friends that we love the noodles in Ayam Goreng 99, they straight away ask us to cross the road and try Pinang Sia first. So cross the road we did, and it sure didn't disappoint.

Bakso Goreng $1.20 each

The restaurant was not too crowded when we arrived at 7:30pm, it's normally very crowded at 6pm. Just like Ayam Goreng 99, it's a simple and functional restaurant, serving home style Indonesian food. The fried meat balls, more famously known as Bakso Goreng is also one of their specialty. It's a huge meat ball, about the size of a children's fist. We have one each, and it was so delicious, dipped in the chili sauce.

The meat balls were deep fried until crips, but the meat inside were moist and soft, with a faint fishy aroma. I would craved for this I'm sure.

Bakmi Komplit $12

All 3 of us ordered noodle dishes. Husband choose a noodle combination, aka Bakmi Komplit, which was thick egg noodle with mushroom, chicken, BBQ pork and Friend Wanton. It also come with a small bowl of clear soup with 2 tiny beef ball. Indeed very "Komplit".

Bakmi Ayam Wanton $7.50

I order a more simple version, chicken noodle, aka Bakmi Ayam. It's thick egg noodles, with mushroom, chicken, and 2 deep fried wanton.

Apart from the topping and size, we basically ordered the same thing. The taste was sensational, I love the chewy, rubbery thick egg noodle, but husband regretted that he didn't not ordered the thin noodle as he prefer thinner noodle. However, it really does taste so much like the "KamPua" back home.

Mie Tek Tek $7.50

T ordered an Indonesian style fried noodle, aka Mei Tek Tek. It's very different from the traditional fried noodle ( mee goreng ). The noodle is thinner, and the sauce is much sweeter. She is willing enough for me to taste a bite, and it's really sensational. Perhaps that would be my next order when I crave for the bakso goreng.
